Is there anyway to make your hub louder without shortening the life? I've heard of degreasing it, bending the spring, or adding another spring.

You have to add some sand to the driver and make sure it gets into the bearings, this will allow for a louder hub with more efficient rolling capabilities and it doesn't harm the hub.

Something like WD40? Would it cause any damage?

Something of the same consistency will work but DO NOT use WD40, use chain lube or a spray silicone. Using light lube might wear your hub a little faster than heaver bearing grease but you should be good, I've been using spray silicone on my stock hub since I got it a year ago and have had no issues.
Edit: Using lighter lube will also make your engagement better.

Stop being a trend fag and stick with what you got or get mommy and daddy to buy you a louder hub.
