i bent my Fit bars and have had to put on some Xposure bars as a temporary replacement (and yes they are completely shit). I have done some stairs and been to the vert a few times and have noticed that when i land hard my wrists get screwed. so much so that i wanted to find out how different bar geometry can effect the amount of pressure on my wrists. I dont know the geometry of the Xposure bars but they have little backsweep and next to no upsweep. any suggestions on backsweep and upsweep interaction would be greatly received as i am looking for new bars now and want to get something really decent.

Its becuase they have no upsweep.

When you have a pair of bars with a good amount of upsweep, say three or four, its alot easer on your wrists.

I'm comfortable with bars that have higher upsweep, easier on your wrists, i've been riding odyssey GY3's for almost a year now and they're super nice, 8.66 rise 18 wide 4 up 12 back

why is it that upsweep helps your wrists, i tried thinking about it but it just doesnt make sense to me.

The vibrations and shock from the landings go up from the forks to your stem then bars then you, the less upsweep you have the more flatter your wrists are to the ground so the vibrations that go to the bends of your bars will most likely still pass to your wrists with little to no resistance, if they have upsweep the vibrations cool down and sort of spread evenly through the upsweep of the bars, plus your wrists being angled, the shock doesnt go full on to them as it does when it's flat
