if what you are trying to say is that your wheel is too far in your dropouts, but when you take a link out it is too short, you need to get a half link, either a chain or a single half link, dans sells them for like a dollar or two i think. i usually got a couple when i bought a new chain. with that it should put you somewhere in the middle of your dropouts.

Get one half link, problem solved. This is your best bet: http://www.empirebmx.com/superstar-bmx-half-link
Or you have a friend with some leftover halflinks and he gives you one, even easier.

My chains would never go over my MDS sprocket. I always have my chains as closest to slammed as possible, but never slammed. As soon as half of the chain over the sprocket, I always crank the rest on but it doesn't wanna go over so I gotta use a full link which doesn't work unless I do the master link from behind the sprocket and then crank the whole chain on from there. It's really gay..
