how do you know man. i’m looking closely to it as well and it doesn’t look bad really. They’re decent quality double walled rims, by the way. i agree with you tho just want some more opinions

It’s just the pain stripping off the seal of your pinned rim, it’s really common.
When rims are made it’s just a straight shaped tube that is then curved and cut.
After that, there’s two ways to get both ends together, welding obviously (on high end rims) or “pinned” which is basically putting sticks and glue.

this is 100% correct. it's just the seam of the rim. all rims have em, either welded or pinned.

do you think this could be the beginning of the end for this rim?

no, because there is nothing wrong with it.

Is the OP pulling our legs here? I don’t know a lot, but I know enough to feel confident saying that what is pictured here is simply the seam where the rim is formed during production. It’s completely normal, and the only reason why it stands out in the picture is because the rim is painted a dark color that contrasts with the bare metal beneath.

The rim is perfectly fine and that’s how countless other rims are, even brand new. It’s not even close to its way out, unless some crack forms elsewhere.
