The best thing to happen to BMX social media

They're the guys that make "funny" vids of other people's edits?

Who're they? Do they ride?

What are your thoughts on the concept of calling out sketchy riding in edits?

Should tricks in edits be sent perfect? Or is it ok to count something sketch and call it "good enough"?

If they called you out in something like landing in grass would you still think they're funny?

People that get all butthurt over it, it's a joke, not a scooter, don't ride it so hard.

|

5/13/2014 7:03 PM

This is the first I've heard about it. and i think it would be pretty funny.
I wound'nt mind if someone called me out on crap i do weird or if it wasn't clean or what ever. If I was to take anything from it it would be stuff i can improve from. That being said Its a thing for fun not something the riders should take seriously haah

You guys will hate me for bringing him up but Adam22 said it best. They are an amazing thing to happen to bmx. There are riders that will half ass stuff and say its good enough but now that they have somebody that will call them out then they want to retry stuff and make it cleaner. FOR EXAMPLE sean ricany.. The kid is a good rider but he half assed stuff so he seemed like a lower level rider... but because of being rodeopeanuted (right term?) he isnt putting out clips that are half assed. Hes putting his all into it and he went from a nobody to being invited to dew tour.

Riders will put out 1 2-minute video a year so it will come out "perfect".

It's easier to be a critic.

I'm undecided. A lot of the stuff is funny, like the "best of" segments I saw awhile back had TONS of Seinfeld clips in it and they all fit perfectly and it was funny as fuck. One thing I don't like though is that people make too big a deal out of it. I saw Animal posted an instagram video the other day of Ralph I believe, doing a sketchy line. Not a serious clip or anything, but people still tagged rodeopeanut in it. Who gives a shit, that was just a jib, not a serious video ya know.

|

5/14/2014 5:08 AM

For the most part I think it's funny as hell. Anyone who takes it seriously is an idiot, it's for laughs. The only thing I kinda sorta had an issue with was the video they made about Mark Burnett's mom being a milf. I thought that crossed the line a bit, but hey, it's all in good fun

|

Honestly? Who gives a shit. Its the fucking internet. I hate all of you equally.

I come from an era in BMX where it counted as long as you rolled away.

Seems that is gone, and you get criticized by EVERYONE if you aren't on the bike perfectly (even though TONS of riders land crank arm on whips and that is apparently ok)

Honestly, sketchy or not, I am stoked to land something new.

Its always been that way around here Dave Lawrence, but the new riders don't see anything as done unless it was silky smooth and perfect. Rodeopeanut is a laugh, not gospel.

IMO there's nothing wrong with taking pride in your riding, I'm a perfectionist by nature and I try to make my riding look good, but some people take that shit way too seriously when in the greater scheme of things it doesn't really matter how it looks if the trick was sent it was sent.

I think sketchy riding can look really good, take Hamilton for example, his riding ain't always pretty but it always looks awesome on film.

I think bangers look better if they are a little sketchy, when someone sends their ender perfect it's like come on if it was that easy for you then you should have done something that was hard enough for you to be stoked just to land it, just my opinion though
