so just got a gsport ratchet, laced it all up, just put a "new" driver in it, old one was missing parts. and it feels like a rough pedaling compared to my primo mix that ive had for years. anyone else have some insight on this? i know my shadow interlock v2 chain rubs a little bit but not alot.

Its a bi-rectional is what I think youre describing. When I switched from a Mission hub to a Venus I felt the same. Then I went back to a Hazard then I switched to some other birectional & felt it again.

That seems to happen a lot to Ratchets when switching from RHD to LHD for some reason, someone I know had that happened when he switched

I traded my ratchet for a mix. Best decision I've ever made. My mix is so much smoother. My ratchet wasn't really rough just didn't like the feel of the engagement. Seemed like it took too long to engage. And is yours a 9 or 10t? The 9t has a lot of problems. Well about half of them do. 10t seems flawless though

There is supposed to be a plastic bash washer in the drive side cone for the 9t. It keeps the driver in place. Other wise the driver comes out of the shell and shit

Also it's common knowledge that the first version of ratchet drivers did have enough clearance to run a shadow chain. But newer versions are fine

Don't quote me on it but I THINK older ones have a helicoil in the axle rather than normal threads, I'm not sure what they look like so idk if there's anyway to tell just by looking at them. The newer versions/newer axles don't have the helicoil and are threaded normally. I think anyway.

Exactly right, I broke the helicoil in mine so swapped it for a profile, The helicoil looks like normal thread in the axle until it breaks, then you realise it's a spring. Nothing compares to my old Mix though, that thing was the best hub I'd ever ridden.

My Wippermann is wayyyy bigger than the shadow chain. It didn't make my metal shavings. Do your posts have anything to do with reality, or is all information in them made up by you after being sedated by your parents so they can go to the bar without paying a baby sitter?

Wait.. If you have the master link in the shadow chain then it does scrape. same thing happened to me. So i pushed it through the other side more and it scraped my MDS i hated it so i took one of the reg links and put it thought (instead of the master link) and now it is fine.
