small parts hoarding

Yeah I did that back then when I would buy parts every now and then with BB's headset bearings,axle nuts and whatnot, I wish I still did this but life goes on

Haha maybe, a lot of the stuff I have 0 use for anymore, like the Shadow Rant v2 drivers for instance.. but they're not broken so I just can't bring myself to getting rid of them

Ya I do that to.....I've got extra chain from half links to 410s to 510s, my chromoly driver for my profile mini ss, a colony official stem just laying around, spokes and nipples, headset parts, fly pantera v bars, extra set of odi s&m lock on grips I've yet to use, some fit indent 24 cranks I'm going to put on my new bike I'm building, another set of 2 piece bars not sure what make, a t1 Logan's run sprocket 30 tooth, united pegs,an extra g sport roll age from my proper wheel, fit faf tires laying around I'm going to cut up and make belts with all sitting in my closet right now

It's what mechanics do. If its junk, scrap it. If its still good, keep it for later. Up until a year ago, I had aircraft parts complete with the traceability paperwork in my tool box, but you're technically not allowed to have them. Mechanics in every field do it, and it absolutely helps in a pinch. Keep doing it! On my last order, I forgot to grab some headset spacers, but I'm hoping to not need as many on my next build, so I may be good.

I do this too. Most of it I know I'll never need but I keep it anyway.

I do it as well.
I just dump it in a plastic can, i have washers, skateboard bolts, bearings, worn grips, barends...

Damn, I have a whole drawer full of old parts haha. Gonna go through that tomorrow at some point, should be interesting to see what's in there. I know there's a pair of Sunday Color bars, a few old, large sprockets, brakes, random other shit.. The belt idea you said gives me an idea, I have a couple old tires in the garage and always wanted to try to make a belt out of one, maybe I'll do that

I also keep some broken shit.

besides my two bikes i have in my closet: sunday frame, odyssey bars, rims, 2-3 stems, a few tires, idk how many levers/brakes, two sets of profile cranks and a few sets of pc pedals in assorted colors

My homie needs a 22mm internal bb spacer if you wanna help a brotha out lol. Just got akimbos and a shadow bb and his bearings hang out like 4mm ish with the 51mm shadow spacer.

No, my problem is not small parts more so big parts. at one point I had 6 frames, 6 sets of bars, 3 or 4 pairs of cranks, and 7 rims.

Tell him to take his ass to Home Depot and cut a length of the gray plastic tubing that will fit over his spindle. Its easier to cut to length, just use a razor blade. Also, if you just need to shave a little off the aluminum one, use a sheet of sandpaper, or just use your Sidewalk in a pinch. Y'all make working on bikes seem complicated or something.

Well I was going to file it for him but I dont want to make it sit wrong. Im probably going to run it through a table saw so that its accurate.

I do this, im just not as organized. I have everything from new bearings to old frames. I have a box full of thousads of old bits that still work. I thought i was crazy, along with other people, but i guess im not. :D

Yeah, i do this. I have an extra bike except for cranks and then i have some headset bearings and a bb. I also have two old frames that i will never run again that i might hang on a wall or something.

Both are 9t RHD haha, I had 2 Rant v2 cassettes & out of laziness, just ordered a whole new driver instead of replacing the bearings forever ago.. So technically I have 3 counting the Shadow hub I still have in my room

Do you have the pawls & bearings and stuff? I think it takes a weird sized bearing or 2 in the driver but I can't remember
