look for banks, wedges, hips( which tend to be harder to find), ledges, rails, benches, picnic tables, stairs, those giant cement road construction barriers( commonly known as jersey barriers), drops, wallrides and a combination of any of those. most people dont notice spots. you gotta have an eye for it. just picture the world as a giant skatepark and see things for what they can be, not just what they are.

I have probably about 10 spots since i live in a college town. A few ledges, lots of parking lots, my own dirt jumps, some wallrides, plenty of stairs, sadly not many rails :/ you could just try to get a bunch of old wood things and make different things out of them? haha i did that and made a ghetto skatepark before.
