Stocksy has it right!! Relax and stay loose, ride as much as you can and this way you get comfortable to the way your bike reacts and your body is in better riding shape so you don't get tired as much. Learning to carve both ways and being able to pump is key as well, now lets go ride!!

Haul ass everywhere, work out and build stamina (do a lot of cardio helps a TON) and again, just HAUL ASS. Staying loose is huge too, and just cruise. Instead of spending all day on a ledge, jump hips and pump around bowls (if you have access) and don't worry about tricks, just float around and do kickouts and turnbars.

just chill and ride my bike really fast? sounds like what i wanted to do in the first place, Theirs a bunch of street guys here who just do tricks and stuff and they pull them off clean, sure, and can hop high, but i dont think i've ever seen them in a bowl, and ive never heard of them going on dirt jumps and forget about a track- im just thinkin if i can get my flow solid, it'll be something that can set me apart from the rest around here.

I RARELY go to the skatepark and ride. But when I do all the bikers just stop and stare like the whole time. I just flow around and take different lines that they've never seen before and haul ass. The only tricks I'll do at a park are 360, whips, tuck no handers, and turndowns. All trails style too so it really set you apart from everyone when you know how to flow a park like it's a trail.

If you have access to trails or woods I highly suggest building your own mini pumptrack and get that shit dialed. I learned how to pump on pumptracks, not trails btw. Trails just helped with the going fast and pumping.

Also put a lot of enthusiasm when you pump. Like REALLY pump. Your legs should dead after like 1 minute of pumping non stop. And like others said, ride loose. I've had times where I'm flowing so good and just chill that I'll throw and one hander tabletop out like how surfers do when they touch a wave. It just feels so natural.

So. LOOSE, FAST, PUMP HARD, FLOW IT LIKE A SURFER, PRACTICE, HAVE FUN.

Friends would help speed up the process but if you're just doing a pump track then it'll only take a couple days solo. It's not bad at all to dig little rollers and berms

slightly related note to pumping and speed= i built a bike today pos but it had 165mm cranks on it, felt really nice to me! so do ya think a 165mm/27t/9t would be better for me for pumping? or should i go to 170mm/27T/9T..... currently running a 175mm/25/9, and it just feels so off and wrong, and i notice the same thing when i ride other bikes with 175mm cranks. think i should go down a little or allot with the 165's? trying to ease how hard it is to pedal while gearing up at the same time. ive got short legs so i know reducing the crank arm length is a must, just not really sure yet.... most mnt bike cranks are 170mm.... smaller arm means smaller rotation of cranks means faster pedaling....

just trying to max my speed without killing my knees at the same time.

yeah pumps dont look to bad. cant dig anything right now with the ground so cold though.

You can pump just fine on anything
Go dig some trails, people will come if the trails are actually good, make sure you have water access

Started this last night/this morning by myself. About 4ft tall and 3ft wide. Just needs more stacking and packing then shaping. It was raining when I took the pics so I'll get some better ones later. Rain slowed my process down a little but it's not hard to build solo. Water can for scale.

Trying to show that building solo isn't bad at all. I enjoy it more sometimes since I can just listen to music and go. And building a little pumptrack would take no time at all. 100% WORTH IT.
