so switching out a stem, went from a 45mm front load to a 50mm top-load, liking the rise but not the stretch, forks currently have 34mm offset, new forks will have 28mm offset.... how would a...

39mm Madera Mast stem feel in comparison?

btw, i'm 5'4.5", arms are 20" when measure straight in front of me... TT is 20.5" from center of steer tube to center of seat tube and i'm running shadow local bars 8.75

i ride mostly park and vert, I do hit trails sometimes though

if you're riding vert with a 39mm stem and 28 mm forks you will flip over

Serious about this-

The original Stem/fork combo on my bike was a 45mm FL stem and a 34mm offset fork. thats 11mm of diffrence...
the current topload stem i have on now, is 50mm and i'm not liking it...

The new forks will have a 28mm offset... so if You took the original diffrence and added it back in... thats a 39mm stem...

So i'm guessing my stem length with the new forks should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 39-45... top or frontload
not sure which I'm going to go with yet. I'm going to put my old dk front load 45mm stem back on and see how i like it(since the last time I ran it was when i had smaller bars)

But some suggestions on the right stem length would be greatly appreciated.

I don't see how asking for advice on stem length that would be good for my size, and style of riding makes me a "Super Puss" But I'll keep that thought in mind... Thank you So much, MidWestBMX, Once again for your Helpful, Thought-out suggestions.

Fork offset is not going to change that feel of stretch with the longer stem. If you ride a steeper fork offset with the 50mm stem youll still be stretched out, you can even ride steeper degree offset and itll still feel the same. If youre thinking a shorter fork offset is going to make things feel smaller, youre wrong. Im sure if you ride the 50mm youll get used to it really quickly, a 39mm stem is well not needed unless if your looking or a flatland /hybrid type deal but even then, 45-53 works just as good. IF you dont like the 50mm stem with the forks you have now, youre probably not gonna like it with new forks as the way youre positioned on your bike now will not change ..

If you have a 50mm stem. Id say get the steeper offset fork and get used to the stretch, the combination is really good. Youll have a faster and more stable steering. For riding in the ways you do, dont go any lower then the 45mm stem you have now.. if anything get a 48mm reach but really, youre not going to noticing anything, itll all just be in your head.
