How did that happen? Use the right size Allen key next time.

Dont assume I didn't use the right Allen key because I did. It came a little bit stripped from the store

Take it off with a little bigger allen key see if it works and get new bolts from the hardware store asap

Take it back to the store you got it from and have them take it off for you

parts don't come stripped from the store. you probably installed it and the allen keeps popping out. thus wearing out the bolt. treats what it looked like to me

Why would you need to tighten the cranks if you purchased it yesterday?

Is it a used bike?

I applaud you wanting to learn to work on your bike. This may be a good lesson. Use the correct size tool and be careful when using it. Even the correct size nut/bolt/tool can get stripped over time.

If that was a brand new bolt, you clearly put a LOT of force on it. Make sure you know what way to turn the bolt can help prevent this too.

A good set of tools is a nice investment.

For my bike, I like just the tools I need.

4, 5, 6, and 8 MM allen.
pedal wrench
large crescent wrench (learn to use it or you'll fuck every nut you touch with it)
Good tire tools
Good grease

If you have questions about working on your bike, ask. It can save you a lot of head ache

Buy an Allen key slightly bigger then that then hammer it in their take out the bolt and youl probably need a new bolt cause that one and the Allen key will be a write off

Already have 2 titanium ones ready to go in. I'll have to find a 7mm Allen wrench tommorw since the 6mm doesn't work

7mm will be too big, try 1/4 or 6.5mm.
OR, drill two holes beside the allen slot, on different sides, and use something like two allen keys to loosen it off.

1/4 and 6.5mm are practically the same size.

Could I take off the non stripped side.(drive side) then undo the pinch bolt and just screw the spindle off? Seems like that would work ?
