Ok so over the course of about 4 weeks i would say ive gotten 3 flats in my tire. Ive had the guy at the bike shop look inside the tire for anything pokey that would be in there and no luck. it has been only happening to the rear tire also and i have rim strips. ive gotten a new tube each time. any suggestions to why this is happening?

not enough tire pressure causes pinch flats. make sure your bead is fully seated in the rim

Do you have a single wall rear rim? I had that same problem before i just ran a whole bunch of electrical tape around the rim and it was fine after that.

this, and if you have a folding tire, those are more vulnerable to debris because they're thinner. i ran a folding on the back and got 3 flats in a week.

Check your tubes. If there are 2 holes close together, chances are you have a pinch flat, which means you came up short on something, don't have enough air pressure, or are just too heavy.

Ur best bet would be to pump up ur tires more. Check the tire again for stuff. And maybe smooth out the riding.

Wat do the holes look like? Holes or tears?
