It's kinda cool i think, i'd dig it. Idk if it is even necessary but it'd probably help against blown bearings.

Fly Bikes. Never caught on though.

That's actually sad, i like this idea for some reason. It seems really useful and may be smoother, i may be wrong though.

I posted about it a few years ago but never heard why it was never put into production. Probably too many variables maybe? BB shell widths vary from frame to frame, as do size and spindle sizes. Guess it's not THAT many variables but still could end up being too expensive for the average rider to want to buy.

Well I'd willingly pay up to 45$ for it really, just because it seems like it'd be a good thing, but it definitely isn't a big necessity.
Maybe it wasn't as smooth or something, idk. Seems smart though, just less pressure on the bearings, less likely to blow up, and probably good for it all.

This bb was from Flybikes it was going to be their second version of their Spanish bb (Spanish 2) but the bearings could not tolerate the up and down loads/forces and had to cancel it, as you can see the bearings are the same shape as headset bearings and the internal bb spacer with the screw on and grub screw end allowed for the adjustment of the speed at which the bearings would be ran so more or less friction depending on your pref, unfortunately it couldn't hold up to the forces. Very interesting idea, oh this design also allowed the bearings to be fitted without any tools, basically the same as headset bearings.

Unfortunately it's not compatible and strong enough to be ran.
