Ive yet to have a singal issue with my match coaster... Just sayin.

Op there are plenty of good forks out there, just let is know what youre looking at and we'll argue over how good/shit they are, plenty of people will get butthurt and no conclusion shall be reached...

Odyssey/Sunday are apparently the best. Theyre the only aftermarket forks ive run so i cant compare them to anything else, but my CS2s, Octaves, R25s, and now F25s have all treated me excellently. Best warranty system out there aswell.

Personally, i would rather run the Shadow Incentives or Primo Pros, but theyre not worth ditching the front stoppers.

Thats incredibly old, didnt test all the forks on the market, and is done by a company included in the test, so its pretty meaningless. Get an independent test done against every other fork on the market currently and it may hold some scientific meaning, till then, its got jack shit scientific value.

Even if Odyssey tested every fork that ever came out, you would still find some bullshit excuse as to why you don't want to buy Odyssey forks. Don't try to deny it. You think you're special because you don't want to buy popular parts.

The Stampy video is more than any other company will ever do. The video Shadow did was fucking hilarious. If you want to talk about things that "got jack shit scientific value," watch that.

And of course you're going to pull the "other forks are good too!" No shit. Other forks will hold up. But none are as good as Odyssey. Why don't you want forks that are stronger than anything that tested, that wouldn't even break in the test, and are still lighter than all but 2 or 3 other forks?

Both videos hold no real scientific meaning, and i was saying nothing about buy other forks, was just saying that video COULD be a load of bs. If you posted that vid to a scientific community, theyd laigh at you. If they want to be scientific then they should post written results aswell, and get it done by an independent company. Speaking of the Stampy test, what i would like to see is, instead of attaching stampy in the middle of the drop out and spread the force evenly between the legs is to attach a hub between the legs and bolt stampy on a peg like device to simulate grinding forces.

I do think it's the grinding force that crack and bend a lot of dropouts.

Yeah, they should test all the different forces usually put on forks, otherwise their forks might only be strong for taking that particular force.

Perfectly reasonable points to make that the video is fairly old now (but we are doing new tests all the time and there probably will be a more upto date one in the next year or so) and that ideally it should be on all of the forks on the market and conducted by an independent 3rd party lab with publicly listed results...
However, given the realities of how much that would cost, the purpose of the video is to try to show that we take fork development very seriously and push to make our forks the very strongest available. To show that we do more testing than anyone else, and that we test with a much higher load and in a more realistic mounting than the standard tests (they clamp the entire steerer along its length, rather than having it in a headset, and do a much lower load).
When you also take into account that the results of these tests bear a very close correlation to what the majority of riders will tell you is their experience (ie. that Odyssey forks are the strongest). And that we have had a proper lifetime warranty on them for 20 odd years whilst most brands have experimented with offering a lifetime warranty and then quietly withdrawn or downgraded it. Then it starts to add to the overall picture.

I would also say that it is easy to look at those results and say: "hey 100 thousand impacts is probably way more than I will ever put any fork through, so it doesn't matter", but that is just one loading and only gives a bench mark, real riding can impose higher loads that will give a shorter life (but broadly in line with the test results).
About a month after we did those last tests we saw a graphic illustration where one of the weakest forks tested broke on one of their team riders and put him out of action for quite a considerable time.

I hope this makes sense and seems reasonable.

I ran odyssey R25's for the last two years and i loved mine but i switched out to Fit FK1's and im super happy with them! same offset but something about the fits feel better to me.
