I really have no idea what it is, then again I am mostley riding my bike all day instead of the internet, but I still couldn't find anything on it. I know of street dirt/trails and park but that's about it, oh ya and can't forget about flatland.

Its just a style of riding which is more complex and well......technical...lol...go figure.
For example....
Punk rock guitar riffs are usually simple
Metal guitar solos are usually technical
like its more involved / complicated, a lot going on, trick combos & lines. Precision and timing.
For example
Chase hawks riding is simple & stylish
Bruno Hoffmanns riding is complicated & technical (but stylish also)
Doesn't matter what terrain your riding on, you can have tech street, park & dirt...nah mean?
Freestyle is the answer to everything --
a fresh way to approach a dull or a
dangerous thing.
to do a dull thing with style
is preferable to doing a dangerous thing
without it.

Simple is where you don't have a big trick list and don't do big lines and stuff. Like Tom Dugan vs Stevie Churchill. Tom Dugan does park and dirt mainly, but Stevie is like 85% street king with like 50+ tricks up his sleeve.

tech: lots of little tricks, grinds manuals
ex: charlie crumlish
not tech: huge stuff, not many small tricks, just big stuff, roof drops, barspins, tailwhips, spins
ex: ck or sean burns
neither is better, but in my opinion, huge stuff (sean burns) or super tech stuff (charlie crumlish) is more entertaining to watch
