I always get about 270 . I'm not sure if it's me

Get comfortable doing higher bunny hops. Swing your hips out too. it will add to your momentum.

When I was just getting them, carving alot (Like Dakota Roche) helps 500%

Turn your head more too and spot your landing. I carve, hop, and turn my head looking over my right shoulder (I spin right regularly) or at my rear wheel. Make sure you are spotting your landing though and not just hucking. Spotting your landing also helps keep you more stable and on axis during the spin. Carving helps as stated above. Just remember to keep practicing because it takes time like most tricks. Recording yourself helps too if you are able to. If you haven't got them dialed out of a little bank or something similar, I recommend trying that first to get the mechanics down.

Edit: Damn, I just realized this was an old post that was bumped! Oh well, maybe it'll help others with this problem.

Turn your head more, compress before lifting the front wheel in the air, tuck your knees at 150-200
