Hi, I'm working on my friend's mongoose (yeah, not great but it's something) and I just put new parts on, but I'm trying to run an odyssey straight cable, but his bike used to have a gyro. There is no place to put a barrel adjuster, so what do I have to do to run a straight cable? On my bike the housing stays in place, but when I pull the lever on this, the housing slides out of the adjuster at the lever. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Here's what I have, tell me what to do.(I have the cable hanger, it's just not in the pic.)

You see where the straddle cable is goes into a little tube? Put a barrel adjuster there. I doubt there's threads in that you'll have to put a bolt on both sides so it doesn't vibrate free.

yeah but if I put the barrel adjuster there, the hanger would be like right next to the break arms.

Drill and tap the seat tube to accept a barrel adjuster.
