So, it seems like this forum is severely lacking in real metal threads. So here's one. What REAL METAL do you guys like to ride to? Here's my list:
Skeletonwitch
Amon Amarth
Destruction
GWAR
Ensiferum
Wolfchant
Slayer
Metallica
In Flames (earlier stuff, before they started leaning to -core stuff)
Whitechapel
Nile
Immortal
Saboton
Voyage of Slaves

But there are about 10 threads that are 12+ months old that you bumped. And metalcore is infact a combination of metal and hardcore. Hence the name, METALcore. Death core is deathMETAL mixed with metalcore/hardcore.

Yea kinda, its a confusing genre. Metalcore is hardcore+metal deathcore is basically death metal with a load of breakdowns. Not all of it is shitty asking alexandria/ pierce the veil shit though. Some metalcore aint too bad. Im not really into deathcore.

Anyways list of bands I used to listen to:

Amon Amarth
In Flames (colony and earlier)
Kalmah
Amorphis
Atrocity
In Thy Dreams
Nightrage
Skyfire
Scar Symmetry
Finntroll
Ensiferum
Korpiklaani
Desultory
Believer
Immortal
Wintersun
Children Of Bodom (Only first album I think dont remember)
Dark Tranquility
Swash Buckle
Skeletonwitch
Celtic Frost
Opeth

I cant really remember what else ha.

There are definitely a few good core bands . But there's also a mountain of shitty ones. For every Oh, Sleeper there's 100 Pierce the Veils, and I didn't want this thread to be about those, but rather about true metal (hence the title)

I gotta be in a certain mood for that music.

Usually pissed off about something.

Give me some classic rock all day long though.

I am sick and tired of the "cliques" that this sport has recently developed. We should embrace the fact that we all ride a little kids bike, and not worry about the small details. When you take riding in its most basic form, we are all the same.

I want to start a metal band with the name FLUFFERNUTTERS.

Or really anything that sounds like the opposite of metal.

I am sick and tired of the "cliques" that this sport has recently developed. We should embrace the fact that we all ride a little kids bike, and not worry about the small details. When you take riding in its most basic form, we are all the same.

More or less in order
Metallica
Megadeth
Anthrax
Slayer
Sepultura
Lamb of god
Testament
Exodus
Overkill
Iron maiden
Black sabbath

Yep, most notable for me, but if included nu, the spectrum would only get broader

one of the first things i noticed ahahah

and idk i like various types of metal. havent been huge on that shit in a long time though. i totally still enjoy a metal show here or there.

i dont think id be able to rattle off metal bands though unless you gave me a subgenre to go off of or if it was a reply in more specifics. becasuse there are some bomb ass bands throughout metal subgenres right nex to ones that suck.

but i totally dig a bunch of the bands listed in here and some of em play some knarley ass show.

also. last time i saw this we had a death in gwar. now we lost fukin lemmy
