I have a problem with slamming. I have only broken one bone *knocks on wood* but I have strained and sprained my muscles so many times and it's probably one of the most annoying injuries in my opinion. I know no one on VitalBMX.com is a doctor, but does anyone know how to make strains and sprains heal faster? Or just help muscles pains in general hurt less?

I fell the other day on my shoulder and every time I fall on my right shoulder, it seems like I pull a muscles or strain a muscles or do something that keeps me from riding for a while which sucks. On Sunday, when I fell, it was on concrete and I hit pretty hard. I ended up just going home like 20 minutes after it happened because trying to do anything that required me to pull was death. I have been taking hot showers and letting the hot water run on my arm, icing the area that hurts, using a heating pad, putting A TON of icy hot cream on, and I took a hot bath in essential oils and Epsom salt last night, which was great. Is there anything else that I can do to help my muscles feel better? I rested all yesterday and plan to do the same today but I have a package coming either tomorrow or the next day and I'd love to put the new parts on and have a session.

No idea how to fix it. I have back issues from hell. Can't even get out of bed without being in pain. Chiropractor couldnt help me either but i won't consider surgery cause it severely limits your mobility of the back. So i just tough it out and deal with it. It helps me to ride giant bars. Have you tried icy hot or muscle rubs to relax your shoulder? Maybe stay off the bike for a day or 2

Learn to fall differently? Try figuring out how to tuck and roll out rather than grin and slam?

A guy I know tucks and basically ninja rolls out of everything, I have seen him dump it on roughly a 13 stair rail, tuck and roll and he is good to go, where anyone else would just slam and be done.

And to heal faster, rest, time, ice and heat and the occasional ibuprofen are about all you can do, also work out a bit outside of riding, strengthen muscles, and stretch. Staying loose and limber always helps prevent injury.

A guy I know tucks and ...more

I tried to tuck and roll but I basically just tucked and slammed. I am REALLY good at bailing according to my friends but I am NOT good at falling. If that makes sense.
