Personally, I've had better experiences with Intel.

Intel, runs a lot smoother and has a higher GHz rate.

well thats the thing is i was leaning towards intel till i started looking around and amd seems to be a little cheaper i was thinking an intel I5 smoothness is a huge thing for me.

I actually have a geek pc , but i don't really know what to recommand you
Dell seems to have some pretty decent pc on their website ,you can find the best for your need
or go to a local computer shop

idk wtf these means? i just said i was building a computer. why would a buy a dell? dell is just a company who puts computers together....

im talking about processors so that i can get a matching motherboard.

i'm with AMD

If it helps any, Intel boards mostly support Nvidia video cards. While AMD mostly supports Ati (90% sure) video cards.
Most games these days support Nvidia for physx and things. I have only used Intel but these are unbiased facts.

well im set on intel . cause i just noticed my laptop runs AMD and the one thing that pisses me off the most about it is that it will be working flawlessly and then lag like a mofo then work fine again. a lot of people are saying intel works smoother. and that seems like an issue because of my processor.

what do you normally run (games, photoshop, browsing, etc...) on your computer?

im looking to build this to be a gaming rig. i do some video editing and music making but for the most part it will be for games

such as Warhammer 40k space marine and starcraft 2 games that i cannot run right now on my current setup. which does use an amd. and even playing smaller games such as TF2 which are all server sided ill hit boggy parts then run fine for 10 mins then bog again.

no real budget im buying parts as i can. im hoping to stay around 800-1000. ive already decided on this case

This case is one of the best in that price range if you're looking for opinions. i would recommend the intel i5 760 (or i5 2500k for more money) with an evga gtx 560 video card.
you should def look into overclocking to speed up the cpu as well.

funny thing is thats the I5 i was thinking about putting in. and i was looking at a 400 series evga nividia card. idk about overclocking yet.

as for the case thats not a bad one but i wanna go with a full atx tower

which? the i5 760 or the i5 2500k?
i have the older i5 750. it normally runs at 2.6 ghz but i overclocked it to 4 ghz. way faster, but way hotter

Might I also suggest a Cooler Master HAF case. Idk how big you want your machine to be, but big is good.

Also wrong. Nvidia cards don't "crossfire". They only SLI.
I don't doubt it's possible though.

Im running a 3 year old Intel I5 750 at 4ghz right now...
But yeah, Cooler Master is the way to go.

what do you guys think about the parts i have selected?

i dont have an issue with amd but im going to give intel a shot. cause i notice i hit randome hiccups with my amd right now were im not even running at full capacity and everything freezes for like 3 secs and then works fine

So my trusty laptop fried out on me, and I buy a new one. My fried out laptop had a 15.6" screen and when I would open a 1600 wide picture, it would go all the way across the screen plus the scroll bar on the right side. On the new one 1600 wide pictures are way smaller. Pictures are opening at about 60% smaller than they really are.




Sitting next to my old junker storage laptop you can see a major difference.
Is there some way to adjust this?
Is this the new normal?
Or is this laptop just fubar?
