Well ive never moved cross country (and im not an older guy haha) but if yoy mive here to California i can tell you living expenses and maybe school are going to be more expensive then in Missouri id imagine.

School might not that much more expensive that really just

Living expenses are definitely going to br higher. Californias one of the nost expensive places to live in and im guessing you'd end uo moving here to LA so nothings cheap. especially housing i was renting a studio apartment here in Hawthorne with a friend ( if you dont know a studio apartments basically a living room with a small kitchen and a bathroom) it cost about 850 a month without utilities paid and 950 with utilities paid. there are cheaper ones that go for a low of about 700 but it will depend on where your going to stay.

Not sure if that what you were looking for but just some help

Thank you. The school is actually in san francisco.
And I was also looking at just moving out towards san diego if i decide on a different school or just dont go to college.
I want to live a bit more inland though because theoretically it seems cheaper. (thinking Riverside county area?)
I don't want LA because living downtown would be expensive as fuck.
But a studio for 950 downtown is not that bad i was actually expecting more.
Oh and i just meant i dont want 12 year olds commenting on this lol
Thank you!
Also as this would be the first time living alone/roommate what are the general expense that you have to pay? Obviously rent and utilities but what other expense would i be looking at and how much if yo don't mind?

Yeah im pretty sure that living more inland will be cheaper also depending on where the nicer areas are expensive but from what I've seen not as expensive as LA.

As far as other expenses it depends. if you get an apartment with utilities paid that covers basic expenses like water, gas and electricity, if its not then you'd have to think how much that would come up to also cable and internet (which you could split with your roommate)

Theres furniture/appliances for the ones that dont come furnished already, and that depends on what you want to have but you'd probably already have most of that stuff so it wouldnt be that big of a deal

Theres groceries when i lived with my roommate we split that cost or she would buy one week and then me the next week. you'd probably be looking at maybe 100 so like 50 each every other week if you eat alot maybe more

Transportation, if you have a car gas is at about 5.00 a gallon (also parking) but if you dont drive the LA metros 1.50 each ride, week pass for 20, month pass for 75, and year pass i think is 225.

Thats all i can think of at the moment i might have missed something but those are some of the major expenses

(Also transportation costs i put are from LA so im not sure what it would be like somewhere else)

Oh and for apartments you'd have to pay a security deposit which usually consists of firsts months rent (sometimes a month and a half) up front, sometimes apartments have special deals where you can skip the deposit but not often.

And theyre usually leased for a year or so, so after the year you'd have to renew the lease

It's still spendy for a studio.

You can buy HOUSES in my area for less than that a month.

Do some research on the schools you want to check out, and live in the dorms as long as you can if you want cheaper living, it might be.

See if friends want to go with.

Look at more than just rent, find cost of living for wherever you decide to go.

Yeah it's definitely gonna be more expensive. But the weather and location and proximity to the industry makes it more than worth it.. There was an article on ride uk that made a ton of sense for aspiring photographers.. Your not gonna make a career out of photography if your in the middle of no where with nobody to shoot photos of. You have to be in the area were there are riders and there are companies wanting photos of their riders... (and applies to other things. ) There's alot of planning still going into this.

And thanks Handlebar-to-face That was a ton of help!
