Most normal fishing rods slide in half so you could still fit it in a backpack.

I catch catfish and carp that'll make you barf no matter how you cook em.

You guys have problems with snapper turtles eating your hook when catfishing?

I actually really like fishing, never really caught anything big though. Th biggest fish i've caught was probably a 8-10lb halibut

HAHAHAHAHAHA it sounds like you went fishing with sickdude! Get yourself a pair a pliers to unhook em. And getting stuck by their barbs sucks, they have poison that makes the cut bleed for a long time and get really itchy. I'm surprised a catfish bit that fast, they are supposed to be bottom feeders.

Oh and catfish don't have teeth so you could put your finger in it's mouth without it hurting.

before i moved here i fished like everyday. i lived in a house on a canal and would take my uncles boat out and catch redfish and trout. i eventually got my own boat right before i moved and took it out a few times. i'm looking forward to rebuilding my motor and hitting some of these lakes around where i live now even though i've pretty much never been fishing in freshwater

Respect for throwing it back. As an animal lover I never went fishing for fear i'd feel bad. Mind you , you just barbed it's mouth and cut off it's oxygen supply but at least he's still alive.

Pretty quick catch and yes weird , catfish are usually bottom dwellers

He would've been stupid to keep it. You'd get about a bite of meat off a fish that size.

I live in the land of 10,000 lakes, and I go fishing MAYBE once every other year.
