I've been riding alone ever since I started riding..... Locals don't really talk to me.... I suspect they stopped talking ever since I got a helmet. Although I rode with a guy couple days ago.... was pretty awesome he got me to try my 360's...... and I landed a tiretap 360 in like 5 tries. Would definetly love to ride with someone like the dude I rode a couple days ago... push each other to be better.

Anywayz ride for the fun of it. I ride alone and sometimes it gets boring but I like riding that itself makes it fun. I'm thinking on making friends with a total stranger, things have gotten pretty lonely.

Damn im going down to ride in Cali in a few days and you guys are worrying me. All you guys from Cali are saying how you ride alone cause people are assholes. Are the Cali locals really that much of dicks? Every rider here is super chill/nice to other riders where i am, even if they haven't met them before. I thought it would be the same way down there.

Depends on where you go. where i live the guys i ride with are really chill and cool with everybody, there are the few douche riders though that think there the shit and better then everyone else but there rare.

I only ride alone because i prefer it that way and moat of my friends ride park which i suck at haha

Im going to Newport beach so ill be riding there Huntington and Long Beach. I'll be hitting up skateparks so hopefully i can meet some chill locals to show me some street spots and stuff

You should be fine there, ive never riden in newport beach but most beach cities have chill people. i ride in long beach alot since i have friends there and all the people ive met are cool. When your in long beach you should find cherry park, ive only been there once but alot of pro edits have been filmed there so it must be a decent park to ride and plus the beaches in those areas are beautiful and have tons of girls especially now that it's summer

It's not that the riders are dicks, I just have a specific type of person I'd like to ride with. I've had some bmxers be dicks to me because I wear a helmet, started calling me names and stupid shit, I ended up ignoring it. I've had skaters talk shit on me for the same reasons. Had total strangers mock me and make funny little voices "look at you, your all suited up". The locals around here were pretty chill when I first started riding I think they still are. If I roll around and decide to stay up and chat they wouldn't have a problem with it. I haven't talked shit on anyone or done anything for any of the locals to have a problem with me. When I first started riding I wouldn't wear a helmet so I was "cool" I was part of the bmxers, it felt that way atleast. Then I started wearing a helmet and I felt like the talking kind of slowly went away. It's gotten to the point were they just ride past me without saying a word maybe it's part my fault.

Anywayz I'd like to ride with someone who pushes me to do better. I met this kid locally a few days ago and he got me to try 360's which was fucking amazing and I somehow got him to try barspins and he landed them. That's the type of rider I'd like to ride with.

Riding with other bmxers in Cali is like dating girls. You can get plenty of chics but they aren't all quality. Gotta dig for the dedicated riders. I've chilled with skaters (not really chilled with them) just watched them skate and have a talk. Cali is great for the bmx/skate scene. I think the pot smoking is big around my neighborhood caught some dudes smoking today on the rooftop (I like to go to solitary places sometimes). Some people smoke their little blunt out in the street walking by.

I ain't got nothing against the riders in my area I've had my bad experiences with some but I wouldn't say every rider around here is shit.

Been feeling pretty lonely lately it's my last high school summer and idk.... I'm enjoying it, just wish I had someone to enjoy it with me =P. You know riding alone is cool and all but when you land a trick it's just you being happy and stuff. When you ride with someone it's like "HOLY SHIT DUDE you just landed a fucking 360" makes it 10x better. What sucks about La is that so many people live here but none take the time out of their day to smile and greet a total stranger. Everyone does their own thing and nobody gives a shit, seems like it atleast.

Try being a flatlander. or living in arkansas. Alone time is the best time you have.

Being alone is cool sometimes, but nothing beats having a friend watch you land a trick you've been working your ass off to land.

Do you know of any skateparks in newport or huntington? Im already planning on going to cherry park and MLK park in long beach

You live in the IE bro, most people are dicks unfortunately because they have nothing better to do. What do you expect from a county full of tweakers and mostly broke assholes? Lol. Trust me, I know alot of them from the OC line all the way to the IE/AZ border. There's alot of good chill people out here, but the number is a little on the wrong side as far as I've seen. I also learned that other counties are alot better to ride in, mostly OC from my experience. I got alot of hometown pride(Norco/western IE in general), but this county is honestly really depressing to live in, to the point I'm thinking about moving back to Phoenix. T-mec isn't that bad, but you wouldn't catch me on my bike in the "not so nice" areas. I don't even want to ride thru Hemet where I live now 90% of the time. But best option would be what SickDude said. That or arranging meetings with people on here is a good way to meet new riding friends!

no not really I haven't been there in a while and whenever I go down there its usually to ride at the beach, but there are some pretty good street spots along that beach though

Both of HB's parks were lame, but one got demolished a few years ago because of the high school next to it. I got to ride my crf50 in that one while it was there tho. Funny thing was the HBPD station is right across the street and I still didn't get busted. Lol. Check out the high school tho. Alot of pros ride street there.

MLK park looks sick from all the TCU vids I've seen that were filmed there. If you're gonna be in Huntington Beach, try to get with some of the Common Crew dudes. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up 'the common bmx' on YouTube and you'll be able to see their stuff. It seems like a really cool group of guys and they have some solid street spots. I'm not sure about parks though.
