You'd be fine dude. Just get a huge softop board. It is literally impossable not to catch waves on those because you only have to be in the pocket (the area like 3-4 feet in front of the wave at the time it starts to crash) and once you are there just stand and ride. Go to mondos. I believe it is near like malibu or something. It is famous for having like 1-2 foot waves always that are easy to catch and break far out so you have time to ride em.

shitty texas waves on a 8'8 strive. it's decent when a storm comes but other than that maybe 3 feet usually. i want to shape a 9'6 myself pretty soon. maybe get a SUP soon too
