I've never had pegs in 35 years+ of riding bikes, trying to learn to grind. When I am not running over my calf with the rear peg, I am smashing my toe in between the ledge and front peg. Are they hazardous after you get used to them being there? I'm about ready to take them off.

Are you slipping your grind side foot off your pedal? I'm running metal pedals now and don't slip my pedals like I did when I ran plastics and wore the pedals down to the point of little to no grip. The only time I ever feel my pegs are hazardous are when I'm manualing and loop out. It's rare, but sometimes my foot snags my rear peg.

if they're causing you problems, and you don't find yourself enjoying having them , go ahead and take em off! there are many fun tricks that don't require pegs!
