We use cleared music for all Vital videos to keep it legal. Not looking to get involved in any lawsuits here...
We currently use a service called RumbleFish. We pay a fee and they provide us with a library.
I can't speak for Zach, but otherwise I pretty much just nerd out on iTunes. Take a band / album I like and get sucked into similar artists/albums through their recommendations. I try not to do it very often because it ends up being very time consuming and expensive...
