I have a Canon t3i and a San Disk Class 10 32gb memory card with a write/read speed of 30mb/s. But I still get the "Movie Automatically Stopped Recording" error message every so often. It's annoying because I will try to get a clip but it keeps stopping.
I did some research and I think I need to get a card with a higher read/write time. Maybe like 90mb/s. Do you guys ever have this problem? Do you think buying a better card will work?

I have this same camera and I'm about to get a new one because of this very issue... The damn camera ruined an amzing clip of Erik Elstran just last week!
It's basically a glitch with this particular camera. I've read a lot online about it and theres no easy fix (although if you don't format your card after you dump the footage this problem gets a lot worse). Also, if your card is nearly filled to capacity, it will happen a lot more often as well.
Just make sure you don't have to much footage on your card (delete the takes you don't need in between tries, and always pull the clips off the camera after each filming session, delete all clips, and reformat....) But like I said, it's something that's never completely gone away for me, so I'm getting a new DSLR body so I wont have to deal with it.

Thanks guys for your help. I just got a San Disk 32gb card with a read/write speed of 95mb/s and its working great! I haven't had any issues so far with the recording stopping automatically.

Alot of it is the read/write speed of the card. i had the same issue with my t3i till i got a new card. it still happened from time to time. haven't had the issue with my 60D yet.
