They are great fun to ride.
As long as riding is fun does it really matter how stupid it is or looks?
If you find it fun then I guess that's what really matters, but:
1: It is kind off destroying the BMX market. I see more new riders with Rockers than actual BMX Bikes these days
2: The company doesn't support BMX at all. They started out making Pit Bikes. They then set up Amity to make some extra money, and they had a fairly decent team and fairly decent parts. they then set up Mafiabikes which so many kids jumped on thinking they were the best bikes around but they had no good features. They were/are trying to advertise a bike they were selling for £125 as a bike equivalent to bikes around £500. This bike has 1-piece cranks and V-Brakes. They then set-up Rocker to make more money and they then closed down Amity as they thought it was unnecessary as they weren't making much money off it.
3: Nearly everyone I know that has had one had it for about a month then sold it.
4: They are low quality and overpriced. I know someone that completely split the wheel on one that had been rode 5 times.
5: The company tries to act as if it was all their idea and even call ones from other companies 'Mockers', despite the fact some of these companies made them first, infact the idea was originally some Filipino (I think) riders idea.
1: If new people to BMX can do stuff on a rocker, after a while wont they just get a normal size BMX anyway?
2: why does it matter if the comany sell cheap bikes? arnt they know as beginner bikes?, whats the point in spending £500 on a new BMX if your new, then finding out you dont like it?! not everyone can afford £500 on there first bike.
3: fair enough, doesnt stop them being fun for others
4: Did they keep trying to "straighten" the wheel by standing on? or hitting it with a hammer?
I love rocker bikes. At the skate park we just screw around on em and put spare parts on em. One of our friends dad made some HUGE four piece bars for it. Has bunch of custom stuff like mini three piece cranks, new sprocket, odsy chain, animal stem, all used/ old parts. Everbody loves it. All in the name of fun.
Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that Rocker is owned by money hungry people who are only making them to get the most money possible I wouldn't mind them at all.
