In an announcement that I definitely didn't see coming, longtime Kink rider Albert Mercado has officially parted ways with the brand. Read his official statement below -

"After almost a decade of riding for Kink Bikes, the time has come for us to part ways. It's been an amazing time riding, traveling, and hanging out with people that have become some of my lifelong friends. Unforgettable memories and friendships that can't be rattled by life's struggles is what I'm most grateful for. Shout out to everyone at Kink that made these years of good times possible. I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my time on Kink. It's been real. On that note, It's time to move forward and see what the world has in store for me! Thanks again Kink for everything!"

Here is Kink's statement on parting with Albert -

"Unfortunately the time has come, and Albert Mercado is moving on from the Kink family as a team rider. Albert is a close friend to all of us, and these types of situations are never easy. Fortunately Albert has the opportunity to explore other options that Kink couldn't currently provide, to continue living the dream of being a Pro BMX rider. We wish nothing but the best for our dude, and couldn't be more appreciative of what he has helped Kink become over the better part of the last 10 years. You may still see Albert with the Kink squad often, because at the end of the day, it's all good and we're just trying to keep riding bikes with our friends!"

We'll keep you posted on Albert's next move as more information becomes available.
