Simon Tabron Suffers Heart Attack, Stroke

Very unfortunate news on one of the best vert riders in the history of BMX. Here are the details courtesy of Chad Kagy -

"Simon Tabron is a beloved 46-year-old husband, father and decorated pro-BMXer, having earned 8 World Championship Titles and 20 X Games medals. On September 7, 2020 his family's world was shattered when he suffered a cardiac arrest and, days later, a stroke.  As we write this, Simon has been moved from  ICU on life support to neurological division  as doctors race to understand the cause of these catastrophic events and the long term effect they will have on Simon's ability to speak, walk, and work."

Chad created a GoFundMe page to assist Simon's family and keep everyone updated on his condition. Please check it out and help if you can!

Update from Chad Kagy on 9/15 -

"We are witnessing an incredible outpouring of support from so many people around the world. The Tabron family and Team Simon thank you.

Simon has made positive progress on his road to recovery. He is off the ventilator. He is eating and drinking on his own. He has been transferred out of the ICU to the neurological division. Shanna has been granted access to his room by the doctors. He has limited vocabulary at the moment that is slowly increasing throughout each day as he talks to Shanna. Simon has even taken a few steps. He is a fighter that will push forward with each and every opportunity.

Simon is scheduled for more tests and exams in the near future. Hopefully the results from the tests will allow the medical staff to give us answers to the many questions about how and why this happened.

Please stay positive. Keep sending your love, strength, prayers, good vibes, or anything else you can to give Simon strength."
