Vans took the world by storm last week with the official launch of their new LXVI line and today we're going to take a closer look at the Secant mid-top shoe.

Vans describes the Secant as a "Contemporary take on a timeless mid-top." An abundance of technology went into making this shoe as light and durable as possible.

The shoe features Vans' new Waffleflex tread design, which is turned on an angle to promote anatomical movement. Also, the tread blocks are spaced apart with recessed centers to reduce weight and increase flexibility.

The shoe also features Actionfit, which is proprietary to the LXVI line. This basically means the shoe features a higher heel to mimic the feel of a running shoe. When you're wearing the shoe, most of your weight is going to be on the ball of your foot.

The Pleasurecuff heel and collar construction of the Secant uses a lycra coated neoprene cuff that is wrapped around a soft layer of open cell foam at its core for superior comfort and heel support.

The Secant is going to run you from $85.00 to $90.00 and you can learn more about it (and the rest of the LXVI line) on the Vans site.
